New Dimensions to the Margam brought Rama Vaidyanathan and her troupe to the Carco Theatre stage for a reimagined exploration of the traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire. With her signature blend of classical precision and contemporary sensibility, Rama led an ensemble-driven production that offered both depth and vibrant stagecraft. The program highlighted how the margam format can be expanded, interpreted, and revitalized for modern audiences while remaining rooted in classical aesthetics.
The evening opened with performances by talented upcoming dancers, Megha Sanjay and Neha Venkatesh, setting a thoughtful tone before the full ensemble took the stage. Together, the dancers delivered a richly layered presentation that celebrated both tradition and innovation, marking the production as a standout moment in the season’s dance programming.
