A concert begins long before the doors open.
From preparing a venue to welcoming audiences and working with visiting artists, volunteers are an essential part of how Abhinay Fine Arts presents its programs.
Some join us for individual concerts. Others contribute skills and time throughout the year. Whether you have experience in event production or simply want to get involved, there may be a place for you.
WHERE YOU CAN HELP
Audience & Front of House
Welcome attendees, assist with check-in and seating, answer audience questions, and help the event run smoothly.
Concert Operations
Support venue preparation, stage logistics, rehearsal coordination, event materials, and other production tasks.
Artist Hospitality
Assist with the arrangements and hospitality that help visiting performers feel welcome during their time with AFA.
Media & Documentation
Photograph concerts, assist with video coverage, organize recordings, and help preserve material from AFA’s performances and history.
Communications & Design
Contribute to event promotion, visual materials, newsletters, and communications before and after a program.
Organization & Research
Support planning, documentation, archival research, grant research, and other administrative projects between events.
Getting Involved
One event or an ongoing role.
Volunteer needs change throughout the season. Some assignments involve a few hours on concert day; others require preparation in advance or work between events.
We’ll discuss your interests, availability, and relevant experience to identify where you might contribute.
You don’t need to be a performing artist or have extensive knowledge of Indian classical music to participate. Reliability, curiosity, and a willingness to work with others matter just as much.
