The 2009 season featured a blend of concerts, workshops, educational programming, and a percussion-focused ensemble presentation. Early in the year, Layatharanga offered a rhythm-centered performance, followed by a two-day Carnatic music workshop with Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan. Summer programming included a youth camp and the Indian Classical Music Festival. Vocal concerts by Sandeep Narayan and a Bharatanatyam performance by Alarmel Valli rounded out the season, presenting both classical music and dance to the community.
