The 2008 season marked the launch of Abhinay Fine Arts’ programming in the Puget Sound region, featuring a series of Carnatic music concerts and a multi-school classical dance festival. The season opened with Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan’s inaugural concert, followed by a performance by Sri Ashok Ramani highlighting compositions of Papanasam Sivan. Dance programming included the Festival of Classical Dances from India, which brought together schools representing Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. Additional events included an interactive lec-dem by Ranjani and Gayatri and a concluding Carnatic vocal concert by the duo.
